The Birth of the Africa Blanch Saga

As an entrepreneur and mother, I’ve always been aware of the gender gap in STEAM careers (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). According to UNESCO, only 35% of students in STEM fields are women, a disparity that begins in childhood—when stereotypes discourage girls from being interested in science and technology.

My inspiration came from a simple yet powerful question from one of my daughters:
"Mom, why do soap bubbles float for a bit, but everything else just falls to the ground?"

That genuine curiosity reminded me how important it is to nurture scientific thinking from an early age. That’s how the África Blanch saga was born—a book series where adventure, mystery, and science come together to spark the imagination of both girls and boys.

In each book, I include at least one historical female figure in science, because I believe it's essential for girls to see role models in this field. Through these stories, I aim to show that science is exciting, accessible, and—most importantly—for everyone.
